Why?
The housing market looks grim, our economy is hurting, and the need to have a safe and decent home is more important than ever. So, we felt we had to do something big, huge, that we had never done before….so, we’re walking.
Will you walk with us? Our walk will launch on June 8th from Tuskegee and will end in Livingston on June 19th. It will take 11 days and there will be stops along the way for community events. Some can walk the entire distance with Founder and Director, Lisa Pierce, walk a day, or walk in their own community. All will be a part of this journey and make a huge impact.
All walkers will be raising funds to help repair homes in the Black Belt, help the growth of day camps, and spread information about how to end poverty in Alabama. Walkers can also be hands on by working in the communities where we will do home repair projects. Throughout Alabama we will be spreading a message of compassion and hope as we share ways that ARM and community partnerships can eliminate poverty. We can all make a difference!
